Fantasy Car Racing League
Rules for 2008
2008 Car Racing League Rules
36 weeks of action broken down into 4 legs
Welcome to the
Fantasytime Sports 2008 car racing league. This game will have
four racing legs that will be based on the entire NASCAR racing season.
During our final race leg we will have the top 12 teams
race it out for the Dash for Cash while still competing against the rest
of the group for the 4th leg crown.
Each team entry will select 5 drivers for their initial roster each leg
based on the value set for each driver. All drivers can be traded weekly
as you try to match your skills against the other racing fanatics.
Values for the drivers could change weekly based on their racing
performance. Each team will accumulate points based on the points
gained by the real life drivers, see scoring below. At the end of
each leg, the slate will be swept clean and a new leg will start. Each
team will then need to submit a new starting roster based on the new
values. After the first 3 legs have been completed, the top 12 teams with
accumulative points will make the Dash for Cash bonus round. Leg winners
qualify even if they are not in the top 12 and receive 35 bonus points. These 12 drivers will be given 10
points for each position they rank. 10 Points for the 12th place
team all the way to 120 Points for the 1st Ranked team. Don't worry if
you do not qualify as all teams are equal for the fourth
leg prize. Check
out the official rules below for drafting your initial roster, weekly transactions, driver values, prizes, and more. Don't
miss out on the fun and join the race league today.

Official Scoring
TEAM
ENTRY:
Each team must have 5 drivers on there team at all times. All teams
will have a team cap of 100 points in value. When submitting your
initial entry for each leg of a race. Values
for the drivers may change weekly based on their performance. The
value that you purchase a driver at is the value that will count against
the team cap and is considered your locked value. Your Rosters is your
LINEUP.
DRIVER
VALUES:
Values
will be determined by the following guidelines:
The racing commissioner will upgrade drivers based on their weekly
finish. The commissioner may increase or decrease a driver if he feels
the cap for that driver has gone to high or to low. No driver will be
increase or decreased by more then 2 points. A basic structure
that will be use in most cases is as follows:
1 - 5 finish, +2
6 - 16 finish, +1
17 - 29 finish, no change in value
30 - 38 finish -1
39 - 43 finish -2
If a driver is not listed, his value will be considered 10
If a driver does not race or does not qualify, his value will
not change. If you own a driver and he does not qualify or race you will
receive the score of 0.
New values will be posted weekly prior to Tuesday morning. Roster
changes may be made starting each Tuesday through the start of the
qualifying day for each race week. New
values will also be posted prior to the start of each new leg. The League
is made up of 4 race legs.
WEEKLY
LINEUPS:
All weekly lineups are due each
week prior to 10:00 AM on the day they qualify. All team lineups will be
locked and frozen at this time. No more adjustments can be made until the
following week. If there is race qualifying on Thursday or Wednesday, lineups will be
due prior to 10:00 AM on that day. If a team does not have or
does not submit a lineup change, the team will remain the same each week
until the leg has ended. Week one teams may be entered until
the day prior to the Daytona 500. This is allowed for week one only. Please
include your team name with all submissions if you are sending in an
e-mail.
DEADLINES:
Deadlines outlined in the rules are all
listed in
Eastern Standard Time (EST).
You will submit all roster changes
on our program by going to your teams homepage.
All starting rosters changes
must be submitted prior to 10:00 AM EST on Friday or the day of qualifying.
TEAM
NAME:
When you enter a team, you must
submit a team name. Team names cannot be duplicated. Once you
create a name, that name is yours for life. When making your team
name, be creative and remember that the names will reflect you.
You are encouraged to use the same
team names year after year and maybe you might find yourself in the
Fantasytime Sports HALL
of FAME. For multiple entries, you may use a Roman Numeral after
your name. We have no affiliation to NASCAR. Try to avoid team names that may be
offensive to other owners. We reserve the right to reject obscene
names.
ABANDONMENT:
Any team that is not updated after a leg will
have a team lineup submitted for them. Lineups will be posted at
random so they are not the same with others. Please get your new lineups
in for new legs or you will go with the one given to you to start that
leg.
TRANSACTIONS:
You must remain under 100 FD cap with your locked driver value.
The locked value is considered your cap and you may never exceed 100 in
locked value. All
starting rosters changes must be submitted prior to 10:00 AM on qualify
day.
Transactions determine your lineup submission. If you are keeping
the same team week in and week out, then you would not have any
transactions. Keep an eye on your drivers value as you may be able
to drop and add the same driver to increase your cap if he goes down.
STANDING
TIE-BREAKERS:
A tie will be broken using the following order.
1. Highest scoring week in the leg tied.
2. Highest team value in the leg tied.
3. Most Pole Position won in the leg tied
4. Dice Roll
If it is a tie for the year ending standings, the total of all four legs
will be used. Tie breaker 1 will be used first to break the
tie. If it does not break the tie, tie-breaker 2 would be used, and
then 3 if necessary. If the teams are still tied after this point,
all the teams tied will split the position.
Dash For Cash Tie Breaker:
1.
Highest scoring week in the Dash for cash leg.
2. The most poles won in leg 1.
3.
Highest team value over the first 3 legs.
4. The most poles won in Final leg.
PROTESTS:
Any owner having a protest, must
file the protest with the Commissioner.
The protest will be determined by the league rules and the Commissioner's
judgment. If the Commissioner feels the protest is unclear, he will
ask the league to vote on the issue. If the protest involves
scoring, three forms of proof should be provided to support your claim.
All protests must be submitted within 5 days of the event.
REFUNDS:
Just in case an untimely event should occur,
refunds will only be available prior to a teams initial roster. No
refunds will be given after your initial team has been submitted and the
first race started.
